The Challenge

Our expat Hong Kong based clients were relocating back to London and looking to purchase an apartment as their family home. Specifically they wanted the apartment to be located on one of just 6 roads in South Hampstead, have direct access to a garden and have off street parking. Before engaging Black Brick, they had been looking on their own for 6 months but were disappointed with stock levels, frustrated with dealing with estate agents, and ultimately could not find any suitable options.

Due to travel restrictions surrounding Covid, they were unable to leave Hong Kong, making their search even harder. They also had to complete the purchase before early January 2022, the date their flight back to the UK landed.

Long before it reached the open market, we successfully identified and secured a fantastic off market apartment on Goldhurst Terrace which met with every single one of their criteria. We were the first in to view the property, well ahead of any other purchaser, and had agreed terms within a week, thereby avoiding a potential competitive bidding scenario which would have been likely given the lack of stock in this market. We also managed to successfully negotiate £50,000 from the asking price.
