Our South African clients had a family apartment in Hammersmith but with the arrival of their first child wanted a house with a garden. The search area was fairly broad and included St John’s Wood, Putney, Barnes and Wimbledon with a budget up to £10,000,000. Our clients were keen to find a property which required renovating as they ran a property development business in Australia and so had the experience and appetite to take on a project.

 

The Perfect Conclusion

The supply of family houses in Prime suburban neighbourhoods like Wimbledon is always restricted but the Covid pandemic saw an even greater demand for properties with good sized gardens and the space to work from home. We were made aware of an off market house walking distance into Wimbledon Village and moments from Wimbledon Common. The house had huge scope to be improved and extended to create a superb family home on one of the very best roads in Wimbledon. The owner wanted £5.75m but we were able to negotiate a 7.8% discount to agree terms at £5,300,000. Contracts were exchanged within 5 weeks.
