Based in Zurich, our Swiss clients were seeking a central London pied-a-terre for their family to use.

Our clients engaged our buying agency services to help them navigate the often complex London property market, give expert guidance on different areas, and to manage their purchase from beginning to end. Amid an uncertain economic backdrop, and limited high-quality stock available, our challenge was to find a large, two bed apartment in Central London, with good connections for work and close to amenities. The focus was to find a property in good condition and no smaller than 1,000 sq ft.
We undertook a thorough search of the market across multiple areas, from Clerkenwell and Farringdon, across to Bloomsbury, and down to Bermondsey. Having previewed multiple options on and off the market, we spent time showing our clients the best options across the different neighbourhoods and as the search progressed, Bloomsbury became the focus due to its vibrant location, spacious lateral apartments, and good transport links. We quickly identified a property that met many of our clients’ requirements on John Street, offering excellent lateral space, two good bedrooms and was chain free having been vacated by tenants earlier in the year.
The property did require some maintenance work, and we took time to advise our clients on the potential costs prior to making an offer. We approached the sellers with a well-structured offer, considering the works, and making sure we highlighted our clients’ strengths as an excellent buyer. As a result, we successfully agreed terms to purchase the property 10% below the guide price.

Our expertise across Central London meant we were able to guide and advise our client on multiple neighbourhoods, enabling them to make an informed decision. Recognising our clients’ strengths as buyers, and understanding how to deliver a well-constructed offer, meant we were able to successfully secure a fantastic apartment at a discounted price, in one of the best parts of London.
